Job Title: Installers
Installers install and service a wide variety of interior and exterior prefabricated products such as windows and doors, at residential and commercial properties.

Duties: Read blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures. Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations. Install, repair and service interior prefabricated products such as doors, windows, kitchen cupboards, bathroom vanities using hand and power tools. Install, repair and service exterior prefabricated products such as siding, shutters, awnings, fencing, decks, using hand and power tools.

Pre-Requisites: Verifiable training or experience as an installer. Five (5) years verifiable experience in a construction environment.

Wages & Benefits

Wages: $20 +. Variations depend on skills and experience. Annual income is approximately $50,000 to $60,000. Average 40 working hours per week. (Weekly hours may vary depending on climate, unions, and preparation of job sites)

Hospital and Medical Care Insurance: OHIP (after 3 months of starting work).

Others:

Spouses may apply for a work permit which is ‘open’ and will allow them to accept any job depending on whether or not a medical exam was taken. (except Construction Laborers’ spouses)

Temporary foreign workers are eligible for the same benefits and rights as Ontario workers.

Transportation to the work place will be provided by the employer.
